Week 16 Tip: Hitting Singles
These weekly tips are to encourage you to "hit singles" - each week, to single out one thing which, in addition to everything else you already have going on, you are going to hit hard to begin brewing up a breakthrough (the home run which will eventually come). 52 weeks of singles will add up to a lot of breakthroughs!
Often times, we are impatient for the breakthrough/home-run and so we come out swinging for the fences. That’s a form of dabbling, obsessing or hacking (Dabbler, Obsessive, Hacker or Master?). Masters know that they have to be prepared to plod along, from week to week, hitting singles and with-standing the anti-mastery assault from dabblers, obsessives and hackers, who impatiently want to swing for the fences.
So, this week, single-out one thing which is causing wheel$pin (Growing Cashflow by Reducing Wheel$spin and Increasing Tra¢tion, for cents on the dollar) to hit hard:
- Maybe single-out one aspect of your culture which is causing wheel$pin to accentuate (Accentuating Short-Range Culture)
- Maybe single-out one operational productivity bottleneck which is causing wheel$pin to tackle (Compound Interest & The 1% Solution to Productivity Problems)
- Maybe single-out one of your most in-tractable/wheel$pin issues, from any area/aspect of your business, to break the ice around and start a breakthrough conversation (Ice-Breaker & Conversation Starter), making sure you are tackling it, not just tickling it (Are you Tickling or Tackling Issues?)
Single out one of these, get started today and you could be in traction by the end of the week. 52 weeks later and that’s a lot of traction!
